Atkins diet is known as diet without Carbs or Protein diet. It is based on carb free foods. This means that the preferred foods are foods with protein.

The diet consists of three phases:


The aim of the first phase is metabolism changes. Carbohydrate intake is limited to 20 grams per day. So, for example, for breakfast you can eat an omelet of two eggs with ham or bacon, for lunch grilled steak and steamed fish for dinner. The first phase lasts for 14 days.


Involves the loss of body mass by consumption of fat reserves. Daily carbohydrate intake is limited to 15 to 40 grams. So, this phase is based on meat and vegetables (low carb).


Carbohydrates are gradually introduced, but are limited to a maximum of 60 grams per day.


Maintain existing reduced weight.

When you eliminate Carbohydrates in daily meals, the liver converts fat into glucose, and additional products of that synthesis are toxic ketones. Ketones suppress appetite, thereby you eat less and weight loss emerge. Because of this diet does not consider intake of vitamins and minerals, it is recommended taking a vitamin pill that will make up for the obvious deficit of vitamins and minerals.

The food you can eat: All kinds of Meat, Fish and salad, Eggs, vegetables,Milk

Prohibited food: Bread, potatoes, flour, rice, soybeans, peas, bread crumbs, fried meat, pasta, peanut, medlar, hazelnut, hot dogs, butter, cream, sugar, chocolate, a variety of savory and sweet snacks, ice cream, all kinds of cheese, all kinds of fruit.

Atkins Diet Plan

Eggs and Meat are protein foods, they constitute the basis of Atkins diet. Meat-based Diet reduces appetite, which is an important factor for weight loss. You can eat meat and eggs, without limitation, which means that you will not feel hungry, during Atkins Diet Plan.
Very important note: During Atkins Diet Plan, you must drink at least 2.5 liters of water per day. Forbidden Drinks are carbonated drinks and beverages with sugar. Feel free to drink tea and coffee, without sugar, of course.

Allowed Atkins Diet Foods for the Phase I (Induction)

Fish Food and Sea Food: Halibut, herring, tuna, salmon, sardines, trout, freshwater mussels, crabs, shrimp, squid. Oysters and mussels have a higher percentage of carbohydrates and should be limited to about 115 grams per day.

Poultry Meat: chicken, turkey, goose, duck ...

Red Meat: Beef, lamb, pork, veal. Avoid Bacon and Ham. Avoid Processed Meat (It Can contains sugar and other additives).
You can eat prepared in every possible way eggs (fried and boiled eggs, omelette…)
You can eat almost all kinds of cheese, but you should check amount of carbohydrate.
Vegetables, with small amounts of carbohydrates, are allowed.
You can eat fat (oil, butter), and spices, because they don’t contains Carbohydrates.

In every following phase, intake of carbohydrates are increased.

Foods to avoid during Atkins Diet Plan

Bread, flour, potatoes, peas, spinach, soybeans, pasta, margarine, peanuts, muesli, hazelnut. Sweets such as cream, sugar, chocolate, ice cream, and snacks. Fruit is also prohibited.
