SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE RECIPE

Ingredients
For homemade spaghetti sauce:
• 1 ¼ cups minced veal
• 1 white onion, finely chopped
• 1 cup homemade tomato sauce
• 3 tablespoon homemade tomato paste
• 1 teaspoon basil
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon fresh rosemary
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• 1/2 cup low-fat cheese

For pasta:
1 ¼ cups spaghetti

Directions

To make homemade Bolognese Sauce

1.Heat non-stick saucepan over high-medium heat. Sauté the onions, stirring frequently, for 10 minutes or until the onions are translucent and tender. Add minced meat and cook for 5 minutes more.

2. To prepare homemade tomato sauce: Simply process tomatoes in your blender. For homemade tomato paste: You can use fresh or frozen previously made tomato paste. The point is that we do not use ketchup for our Healthy Spagetti Recipe.

3.Stir in homemade tomato sauce and tomato paste, and add spices. Reduce the heat to medium temperature and cook Bolognese Sauce for 20 minutes longer.

4. Bring a stockpot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt. Add spaghetti and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Or cook according to the instructions on a spaghetti package.

5. Drain spaghetti well through a colander. Crumble the cheese.

6.Transfer spaghetti to a serving plate and pour Bolognese Sauce over it. Place crumbled cheese on top and serve warm.
